Illadelph Glass was founded in 2002 by Luca Falso in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Falso learned glassblowing at the Crefeld School as a teenager and launched Illadelph to create functional glass that merged scientific precision with bold visual identity. The brand's name, a stylized nod to Philadelphia's hip-hop culture, reflects its urban roots. From the beginning, Illadelph aimed to pioneer a new standard for production glass. Illadelph rose to prominence through the Glycerin Coil Condenser, introduced in the early 2000s. This removable, freezable coil filled with glycerin allows smoke to pass through for cold cooling. The invention became Illadelph's signature and remains one of the most recognizable features in modern glass design. The company also developed flattened showerhead disc percolators, multi-hole slides, and modular systems that let users interchange bases, coils, and ash catchers, turning each setup into a customizable system. Based in its Philadelphia studio, Illadelph operates with larger infrastructure than boutique brands, combining skilled glassblowers with production efficiency. Every piece is made domestically from German Schott Duran borosilicate glass, ensuring clarity, strength, and consistency.
